Below: Pre-MBFW, Carla Zampatti’s Black, white and everything in-between showcase at carriage laneways – Thanks for seating moi front row!

It’s Australian fashion at its best when it comes to the spectacle of Mercesdes-Benz Fashion Festival – designers, media elites, celebs, models and the papps including street style photographers all coming together to simply out do each other and to be seen at one of the industry’s IT events of the year – A fun and vibrant one at that. But not only is it about the peeps, its about the fashion daahhhlingg! From the latest arrangement of sporty luxe looks to statement cut-out gowns; fashion for Spring Summer 2013/14 is going to be one stella season ahead!

Some of the great perks I had during fashion week included access backstage allowing me to capture some quick snaps of the key looks before the models graced the runway. First up was CAMILLA AND MARC’S 10 year anniversary show filled with gorgeous white ensembles alongside an array of lust-worthy prints. And not to mention amazing gold brocade looks. I think I mentally said “I want that” to almost everything I saw. My favorite moment at this show was actually secretly seeing Camilla-Freedman Topper shed a few tears after the finale of the showcase – absolutely a gorgeous woman with such a great achievement to be proud of.

One of my favourite shows of the week was presented by Lisa Ho – clean, classic silhouettes with use of bold colours abundantly. Ho sure knows how to create a killer dress and use of red (one of my all time fav colours) got me thinking about how this designer is on FIRE! Nailed it completely especially with her maxi dresses which I can so imagine wearing to all the weddings I have coming up!

Then there was street style spotting – my day 1 outfit was by far the spotters favourites I guess, or perhaps by day 3 they all got sick of camping out side the venue for their next visual victim to appear!? LOL a complete compliment, don’t get me wrong. But believe me, this year felt like every girl who walked into the compounds of carriageworks had invisible bread dangling from their hair and the pigeon photographers swooshed in for their money shot snap! Quite a funny scene when you stand back to watch it all…
Till next time fashion lovers xxxx p.s see more of my coverage from MBFW on my work blog here.
